MILBY Graduating Class of 1960

Graduating Class of 1960

CHARLES H. MILBY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL opened in 1926, making Milby the oldest school in the HISD system!

CHARLES H. MILBY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

is the largest school in the HISD system!

The MILBY CLASS OF 1960 was the first Milby graduating class to have its own website. This site was started in 1999, by your reunion committee.

Since 1985 we have kept the MILBY CLASS OF 1960 alumni data base computerized. No other Milby graduating class comes close to that accomplishment.

The software format of that database has changed over the years but we have kept as accurate records of our classmates as possible, considering the constant state of flux, with often changing addresses, home phones, email addresses as well as alumni who move away from and sometimes back into our geographical area. Please try to remember to notify me of an such changes, preferably beforehand but after the move also works.

Our list of alumni is broken down into three categories. As of Spring of 2006, the approximate number of our alumni in each category is:
430 with CURRENT CONTACTS !
36 with whom we have LOST CONTACT!
  60 who have PREDECEASED us!

For those of you who want a personal copy of tha  most current data base, the data is available in either, an EXCEL spreadsheet or WORD document. If any of our alumni would like an electronic copy of our Class of 1960 Directory, please EMAIL ME at milby1960@earthlink.net

If You Have Any Interesting Facts About MILBY HIGH SCHOOL Please E-mail Us! Your Suggestions and Contributions Will Be Included In Future Updates and Your Contributions Will Be Acknowledged.

Please help make sure all of your classmates with whom you have kept in contact know of this website. Please call those Class of 1960 alumni and Give Them Our URL Internet Address.

Tell Your MILBY Friends! Spread The News Throughout Cyberspace.

Everyone needs to remember to keep their calendar open for the Spring of 2010. We will let you know in the Spring of 2009 so you will have close to a whole year to plan your schedule to attend the 50TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION CELEBRATION.

Mission Statement

Our ongoing efforts over the last few decades have been geared to keeping our records current. In 1998 we decided to prepare for the new century and entered cyberspace, developing this web site. Our goal for this web site is to enable those of us remaining to establish and maintain a dialogue and to foster new contacts with missing alumni.

Starting with the 1980 reunion , your REUNION COMMITTEE has successfully produced six reunions since our 1960 graduation. We remain dedicated to keeping this tradition alive. Sometime early in the year 2010 we will hold our Diamond Jubilee Grand Extravaganza, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of our graduation. We will start contacting you early, in 2009, to give you plenty of time to clear your party calendar for 2010, for what hopefully will be the largest and best reunion party yet.

If you are connected to the World Wide Web, either through your office, your home or indirectly through relatives or friends, we encourage your immediate reply to us.

Look over the attached lists and then E-MAIL US AT OUR WEB SITE with your current contact as well as your comments and suggestions.

This web site is an ongoing project so we encourage your participation. As we get updates from you we will periodically revise the enclosed data.

Please be advised that we will only use your information to increase the class participation in future reunion activities. If you do not want us to include your name in any future intra-class mailings just mark your contact sheet as "Do Not Give Out This Contact" and we will honor your wishes. If you do not wish to participate in any future mailings, discussions or party, just mark your contact sheet "Leave Me Alone" and we will make a note of your wishes for our files.

Over the years this committee has put in hundreds of hours and spent scores of our own dollars to maintain our database. We very much care about you and want to know how you are and what is happening in your life. We have found many of our "lost" alumni with this web site. If you are lost, by accident or by design, we hope you will take a few moments to, at least let us know you are alive, and hopefully, well. There are many more people from our class that want to hear from you than you may imagine. Whatever your feelings about your fellow alumni, we want and need to hear from you.
